
Every year the Northern Minnesota Draft Horse Association hosts a field day consisting of 75 to 100 Draft Horses & Mules pulling many types of plows and field equipment. Some demos which are typically performed include; grain drills, mowing hay, raking hay, hay tedder, hay loader, corn picker, corn binder, corn sheller, corn shredder, corn stalk chooper, silage cutter, grain binder, reaper, culti packer, potato digger, clod pulverizer, treshing oats, wagon rides and a 3-bottom plow with six horses! Admission is only $4.00 per person and children 12 and under are free! There will be a yard and craft sale with miscellaneous items for sale. Crafters are welcome for only $5.00 for a space!
Fall Field Day 2010 will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Leroy Ritter's near Avon, Minnesota. September 26th will be the alternate day in case of inclimate weather. We'll provide more details the closer we get to the event.
The 2009 Field Day Event was held at Gene & Pat Loxtercamp's in Sauk Centre, MN. Some of the many activities the teamsters were involved in were: plowing, disk, mowing, raking, stacking hay, corn binding, corn picking, threshing oats, grain binding, digging potatoes and the grand parade.

Thank you to Gene and Pat Loxtercamp and family for hosting the two-day event. A Thank You goes out to those who helped with the preparation, working the gate, directing traffic, selling tickets and bringing equipment. Also, thank you to those teamsters who participated in the activities. We appreciate the extra effort that many of you made to travel the long distance to be part of the field day.
