Fall Field Day

Every year the Northern Minnesota Draft Horse Association hosts a field day consisting of 75 to 100 Draft Horses & Mules pulling many types of plows and field equipment. Some demos which are typically performed include; grain drills, mowing hay, raking hay, hay tedder, hay loader, corn picker, corn binder, corn sheller, corn shredder, corn stalk chopper, silage cutter, grain binder, reaper, culti packer, potato digger, clod pulverizer, treshing oats, wagon rides and a 3-bottom plow with six horses! Admission is only $4.00 per person and children 12 and under are free! There will be a yard and craft sale with miscellaneous items for sale. Crafters are welcome for only $5.00 for a space!

The 2011 NMDHA Field Day , Sept. 24th, 2011 was held at David Lusty’s, 15035 Spruce Hill Pk. Rd. NE., Miltona, MN 56354

The teamsters showed up ready to show off their equipment and skills. These activities included: disking, plowing, several hay activities, corn binding & picking, threshing and binding of grain, digging of potatoes, and various other activities and the grand parade. The drawing for prizes followed by the parade.

The 2012 NMDHA Field Day will be held September 22, 2012.
